Midtown

Welcome to Midtown

Also known as the second largest business district in the city of Atlanta, Midtown is a vibrant city that’s home to around 40,000 people. Known as Atlanta’s Heart of the Arts, Midtown is filled with cultural attractions, unique architecture, and a diverse array of shops and restaurants.

It is also home to some of Atlanta’s most iconic buildings such as One Coca-Cola Plaza, the AT&T Midtown Center, and the Bank of America Plaza.

Midtown is located in between Buckhead and the commercial and financial districts of Atlanta. The neighborhood can be accessed via the I-85, the I-75, and the Georgia State Route 13.

History of Midtown, GA

Midtown wasn’t always the bustling Atlanta neighborhood that we all know today. Back in the late 1800s, Midtown was a popular neighborhood known for its grand and stately homes. After World War II, many of its residents decided to leave the area to for Atlanta’s burgeoning suburbs.

As a result, Midtown went into decline. In the 1970s, the city slowly started to rebuild. With the help the Midtown Alliance, a non-profit organization, Midtown became a mixed-use community designed with a “new urbanist” mindset – a city or community with walkable blocks, homes and stores in close proximity, and accessible public spaces.
